This is a project I did for school. We were set the task of producing a cd booklet for a band/ artist.I chose Panic at the disco. I created this booklet by hand using stuff from around my house. I ripped open a hardcover school book to get the cardboard for the cover, used unorthodox tools, such as abutter knife, tooth picks and even an iron, printed the pages on my home printer and painted gold text on the cover and spine.
Breaking out of the true tradition of what was considered to be an appropriate magazine cover - Oliver produced this cover in his Year 12 time at College.
What an awesome example of typography in action.

Oliver posted his work on deviantArt. The Australian band Calerway spotted his work on the website and made contact. Following this, Oliver became a paid designer whilst still attending College.
This is the CD cover design and booklet he designed for the band… great work Oliver!

SiSoMo the monster

SiSoMo was initially the brainchild of Eddie Petersen and Blair Hungerford in 2006, who saw the need for the Arts’ and Music to be brought into the 21st century in a multimedia format after a Professional Development training weekend in the Wairarapa.
The Event
The Music and Visual Art/Design department work together to produce an evening, which enhances the aspects of sight, sound and motion.
SiSoMo Groove 2007 - 2010
The evening includes a range of Musical performances, Visual Art and Design displays and accompanied refreshment and snacks, making for an elegant evening. We showcase the talents and efforts of the students of our College in Performance, Music and in Visual Art and Design.
SiSoMo for the students
SisoMo is a concept that endeavors to transfer what is happening in the classroom to a public forum. This is vital. The intention is for it to have very little disruption on the curriculum during the course of the year. We don’t want the students being left to try and mop up the lack of time in the classroom at the end of the year.
SiSoMo professional development links
SisoMo links as a concept from staff professional development training that was undertook through Renaissance and Apple Mac training in the Wairarapa
SiSoMo reality
SiSoMo is a process of continual preparation. The Staging, for some, will be the reality of working in the entertainment or visual arts and design industry. Performance elements will come together as one package to audiences in venues in New Zealand and around the world.
The event has grown over the years, from the 1st year of only 50+ people to now well over 150+ and more, if we had the room.
SiSoMo the monster
The event has become more and more popular over the years and we are therefore currently looking for another venue to hold the event other than the College Auditorium, to bring the wider community closer to the concept…. and so Expressions Gallery in Upper Hutt was born
The monster is still being fed through our ideas and student input…… go the sisomo monster
